Rock Stars Aren’t For Country Girls by Kelly D. Smith

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to date a rock star? Maybe fly in their private jet, have them buy you clothes, have them introduce you to other rock stars. Maybe even have sex with one, or better yet, fall in love?

That’s what you get when you read Rock Stars Aren’t for Country Girls. A sweet country girl lusting after a rock’n’roll bad boy and their quick roller coaster romance.

This was an OK book. It was a novella at just 108 Pages, which was nice, it makes for a quick read that you can finish in one afternoon. I liked the plot and the characters were likable and realistic enough.

My only regret about this story was that it seemed to me that the characters didn’t have any magic between them, any heat, sparks, sweaty palms, anything to keep me reading the story for the next time that they touched. As a reader you like to feel like you’re the girl, like you can’t wait for the next time that his arm brushes yours. That is why we read these books, and I feel like that element was missing between the two of them.

OK so when we get to the sex scenes the heat does get turned up: It was smooth and sexy and not raunchy at all, but again to me it was just a well written sex scene, nothing that left me panting, gone looking for my husband kind of sexy.

The author has demonstrated that she can write, there is no doubt about that. I got this book for free in exchange for an honest and fair review. Erotica novels are something that I am pretty new too, so I would have not selected this one, but I am glad I got to read it.

I love the premise of the book, I’ve never read a book on what it might be like to fall in love with someone so famous and I am intrigued, I wish that the book was longer and more developed, because I liked what I saw so far. I think I would enjoy getting her other novellas at some point and reading them too. This book can be read as a stand alone but from what I gather the first two novels are about the two other guys in the rock band and how they got their girlfriends. I would give this book 3.5/5 stars with the promise of returning for more later.
